bubbles and lies
Jim January 19th, 2007

you are a sinner.
God basically doesn’t like you.
at least you’ve got your fire insurance policy, be thankful, you’re one of the lucky ones.
fall in line, be good, follow the rules, check the boxes, play church.
listen to them; they are smarter, they are holier, they are…well, just trust me.
you can’t be like Jesus; he is God and you’re not.
don’t look inward, ignore what your gut is telling you, mistrust anything inside you.
you’re forgiven and that’s the best it gets; the really good stuff comes in heaven.
you can’t really be free so put that thought out of your mind.
the world is divided and you can’t change that; leave well enough alone.
you are a sorry representation of Christ; just take your friends to church and let them explain it.
you’re not intelligent enough, spiritual enough, gifted enough, or good enough.
peace, beauty, and harmony? come on, grow up!
play it safe or you may go off the deep end.
love is powerless; get real; be a “somebody” at all costs.
keep checking your boxes and confessing your sin; supply God plenty of reasons to value and bless you.
trust me, really, that’s pretty much about it. try harder and hold on ’till heaven. it will all pay off in the end.
it’s all true
