things Jesus said

Jesus once said, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Hmm…”be perfect”?? Sounds like a tall order!
Could it be we are perfect, and all that’s left is being perfect? Supposedly we can’t be perfect because of “sin”. But wasn’t all “sin” forgiven – past, present, future? If so, if we are living in the eternal present moment, aren’t we perfect? If there is no “sin,” are we not as God created us – reflections of his perfection: perfect love, perfect peace, perfect truth, perfect joy, perfect freedom, perfect power, perfect creativity…
Jesus also had a body, but having one didn’t deter him from expressing his perfection, including the overcoming of death itself. So, we can’t blame it on our physical body; the body just follows suit with what the mind believes. So is it that our minds are deceived and keeps us from the reality God wants us to experience – the reality of his perfection?
Maybe Christ within us is like spoonboy (The Matrix) saying – “There is no sin.” So why do we continue perpetuating the illusion of sin if Christ has forgiven it. If it’s “unreal” to him, why do we feel the need to hold onto it? Fear? Of what? Fearful of “being perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect”? Why would we fear this?
Somebody help me out here…
